The Papal Basilica in Vatican City brought the mixture of thoughts and feelings in me. The place is grand and overwhelming, and I simply couldn’t embrace all the volume of the church neither with my eye, nor with my soul. At the times I feel lost, my instincts telling me to focus on smaller things, and somehow it calms me down. I start my travel in the big space with more confidence. In these images I try to convey the idea of being satisfied with the smaller elements, to enjoy their presence instead of trying taking all of that magnificence in at once.

The details are fantastic. I was a bit overwhelmed when I visited the Basilica and kept trying to fit more, more, more into my lens frame. You’ve captured all the magical bits I missed!
Must be amazing with all those details in the buildings
Ah, this post makes me miss Rome!
wonderful 🙂
Truly amazing shots!
Wow! I love how and why you captured the “small stuff,” the details; the immensity is hard enough to capture in person. I feel the same way when I visit the magnificent places here in Istanbul.
You’ve done an amazing job presenting this beautiful architecture. For some reason, I especially like the hands.
Love your presentation. Nice collection of close up and broad view. I would love to visit this someday.
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing these
very well said. It is overwhelming at times to grasp the whole… observing detail is helping to appreciate the little things and the grand
