I visited Delhi at the times of the protests running against raise of criminal actions on the streets of the city. We saw enormous amount of police and army near the parliament building, in the parks and squares. Late April is very hot in Delhi so we visited major attractions in yearly morning. Catching just one auto rickshaw on the street in front of Parliament was a gift of yearly morning commitment. At the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial I saw the scene when workers were cleaning and changing the flower arrangements at the monument.
Traveling by cycle rickshaw on the streets of Old Delhi made me very excited. It was a bumpy road to begin with, I was afraid we are going to crash any moment, or I can fall off the cart. In order to take the pictures, I asked my friend to hold me during whole ride. I’ve seen a lot! It’s really overwhelming: wires, cables, signs, people, carts, cows, dogs, shops, smells, other rickshaws, noises-everyone is honking.
I found the explanation to the picture where a men standing on the block and peeking into the automat. This is not what I assumed at first:), this is a cheap Bollywood short musical automat. They still through a couple of coins to watch a short love movie about unreal beautiful life somewhere in Kashmir.
The rest of the city looks like it’d been recovering after bombing or an earth quake, actually, the rest of the country looks like that. I visited five states.
