The rose windows of French cathedrals are a joy to behold face on, but I particularly like the angle you’ve taken this from, lots of triangles, both closed and incomplete, with the circles of windows and street lamp providing the occasional accent. Picture of the Day? Picture of the week for me!

    • At the time of taking this shot I thought mostly about the beauty of the negative space of the sky created by those amazing contour lines of the buildings.The ornate facade of the cathedral is a big extra for the whole composition. We all got a lot of frontal shots of the famous landmarks, I decided to share a different view on the world masterpiece.

      • Like all the best pictures, many of your photos have a lot more to say than the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words” suggests. Now you mention it, that negative space is just as eloquent as the intricate architectural features. Love it!
