Burano Island is locates half an hour boat ride off Venice, and I would recommend to visit it if you travel to Veneto. I think only happy people live here: you can’t be unhappy surrounded with such brightness:). It was such joy to my eyes to see all those bright houses, boats and clotheslines around. Each house is unique and special. Do you know that they can’t change the color of their house without the municipal approval?

Initially, I dedicated this blog to my travel photography, however as time was passing by I realized that all my interests in life are connected, interchangeable and overlapping. My major in school was Textile Design for a reason: I always was hunting for colors and textures, for new patterns and unique folk designs. I think these interests got projected onto my photography. Photography gave me the opportunity to capture and later on analyze much wider variety of designs and form representations. I found a lot of inspiration in the designs I collected around the word and I try to implement them in my original artwork. I’ll be happy if some of you will find the connections or make your own.
If you would like to purchase my images for any type of publishing or personal use please contact me via e-mail natmaks@gmail.com and I gladly assist you. All images are very high-resolution and can be printed with ideal quality on metal, bamboo or acrylic up to 45″X70″. Enjoy!

I have my constant hunt for different type of texture around me. I have to admit the beautiful finds can be everywhere: we just have to start looking at the objects around us slightly different. It’s easy when you are on vacation, and your mind is not preoccupied with all the noise, and your eye is constantly obstructed with just “wanted” objects. Here, I went on the free hunt and found a few interesting and exciting textures.
